Set up EK Mail on your device

Use EK Mail in Outlook, Apple Mail, Thunderbird or on your phone. Download a setup profile for Apple devices, or copy the settings for everything else.

iPhone, iPad and Mac: one-tap setup

Enter your address to download a profile that configures Mail for you. Nothing to type in by hand.

You will be asked for your EK Mail password when the profile installs. Your password is never included in the file.

Server settings

ServerPortSecurity
Incoming (IMAP)mail.ekrasunya.com.np993SSL/TLS
Outgoing (SMTP)mail.ekrasunya.com.np587STARTTLS
Outgoing, alternativemail.ekrasunya.com.np465SSL/TLS

Your username is your full email address, and your password is the same one you use for webmail.

Outlook (Windows and Mac)

Do not use the Continue button. New Outlook asks Microsoft about the domain first, finds nothing, and shows "Something went wrong with this account setup".
  1. Type your address, then click Advanced Setup instead of Continue.
  2. Choose IMAP as the account type.
  3. Incoming: mail.ekrasunya.com.np, port 993, SSL/TLS.
  4. Outgoing: mail.ekrasunya.com.np, port 587, STARTTLS.
  5. Username is your full email address. Password is your EK Mail password.

Apple Mail, iPhone and iPad

  1. Download the setup profile above - it fills in every setting for you.
  2. iPhone or iPad: open Settings, then Profile Downloaded, and tap Install.
  3. Mac: open System Settings, then General, then Device Management, and install it.
  4. Enter your EK Mail password when asked.

Thunderbird

  1. Add a new account and enter your name, address and password.
  2. Thunderbird finds the settings automatically - click Done.
  3. If it does not, choose Configure Manually and use the settings below.

Android (Gmail app and others)

  1. Add an account and pick Other, not Google.
  2. Enter your full address, then choose Personal (IMAP).
  3. Incoming: mail.ekrasunya.com.np, port 993, SSL/TLS.
  4. Outgoing: mail.ekrasunya.com.np, port 587, STARTTLS.

If it will not connect

  • Check the password by signing in to webmail first. Mail clients use the same password, and a wrong one looks like a connection failure.
  • Use your full email address as the username, not just the part before the @.
  • In Outlook, make sure you chose IMAP and not Microsoft 365 or Exchange.
  • If port 587 is blocked on your network, try 465 with SSL/TLS instead.
Prefer a dedicated app? Download EK Mail for desktop and mobile - notifications work even when your browser is closed.
